Fusion Garage's website goes dark -- has it bit the dust?
Perhaps it's the comeback that wasn't meant to be -- Fusion Garage has apparently silenced its radios for over a week on Twitter, and more than a month on Facebook. Potentially worse, its website is now unreachable, displaying only a "Database connection error." Although its Grid10 tablet was set for a delayed October 1st release, some folks over at The JooJoo Forum and on Fusion Garage's Facebook page are reporting that...

Whatever name you want to use, the winner is California. That's the news from Next 10, which just released a study showing that California has won 69 percent of all the electric vehicle investments made around the world in the first half of 2011....

Bell Mobility hints at Ice Cream Sandwich release dates for Galaxy S II, Raider and Sensation
We've come across an internal document from Bell Mobility that's bound to raise the hopes of a few good Canadians. Yes folks, we're talking Ice Cream Sandwich. The carrier to the north estimates that it'll have Android 4.0 ready for the Sensation in February, which is to be followed by the Raider's update in March -- this handset may be more familiar to AT&T customers as the Vivid....

Verizon's Next DROID RAZR Already Spotted In Their System

Verizon's Next DROID RAZR Already Spotted In Their System
Because the name "Verizon DROID RAZR by Motorola" seemingly isn't long enough, it looks like Verizon's already planning another RAZR with even more words in the name. I kid, of course (does the name even matter? Everyone outside of the tech scene just calls every Android phone "the Droid" anyway), but I pick on the name because it's pretty much the only thing we know at this point. Spotted lurking in VZW's...

Zynga COO John Schappert On Going Public, And What's Coming Next
Zynga is still in its quiet period for another 24 days after going public yesterday, so chief operating officer John Schappert wouldn't answer my more specific questions about the company's future plans when I talked to him last night. After opening up at an aggressively priced $10 per share, the company had a slight pop before closing down 5% yesterday....

Senator Al Franken asks about Carrier IQ, the companies answer: the complete breakdown
Two weeks ago, smack-dab in the middle of the CarrierIQ saga, Senator Al Franken pounded his fist on the table and demanded answers. He wanted to know what CarrierIQ is all about and why several US mobile providers and manufacturers felt the need to install potentially invasive software on the phones of unsuspecting consumers....

Motorola Xoom tablet gets an Ice Cream Sandwich makeover with 4.3.0
Only a day after Google released Android version 4.0.3, one XDA developer has already installed it on his Motorola Xoom WiFi tablet -- making it the first slate to run the frosty Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. Of course, trendsetting is nothing new for the Xoom, which was also the first to ship with Honeycomb's sweetness back in February....

NASA shows first global image taken from new satellite; Captain Planet approves
From breaking the ice on Jupiter's moon Europa to going Captain Ahab on comets, NASA's been quite busy formulating all sorts of "strategery" for future projects lately. But just because the space agency has to pay Russians to hitch a ride to space these days doesn't mean it has nothing going on in the present....

Samsung Stratosphere review

Samsung Stratosphere review
Once upon a time, in the not-so-distant past, Verizon was still in phase one of its LTE lineup, which consisted of nothing but 4.3-inch slate phones with questionable battery life and very little to stand out from the rest of the competition. Now that we're seeing the second generation of devices coming into the 4G fold, Big Red appears to be pushing choice -- not just in terms of size and...

California launches campaign against 3,000-mile oil changes
Filed under: Etc., Legislation and Policy If you ask the typical driver how often they should change their oil, the answer would likely be about 3,000 miles. But thanks to advances in engine and oil technology, the 3,000-mile barrier is just a number. Many vehicles can travel 7,500 miles or more between oil changes, but still a large number of drivers head to the nearest oil change facility for their 3,000-mile fix. The...

Droid RAZR MAXX appears in Verizon Wireless inventory, details remain mysterious
Leave it to Motorola to milk the iconic RAZR branding for all it's worth. A new LTE phone has appeared in Verizon's inventory system, and dubbed the Droid RAZR MAXX, it seems to be at least a spiritual successor to the original MotoRAZR MAXX. Little else is known about the device, other than some EXIF data that hints at a similar 8 megapixel shooter....

Dave Morin and Path's secondary standalone app With "is winding down", according to a tweet, email, and blog post from Path. "Now tweet who you're with directly from Path", the email explains. The encouraged migration signals the end of Path's experiment with a stripped down, single feature experience. Details are sparse but this looks like an early warning to With users that the app will be sunsetted soon, though it still...

Review: Grand Theft Auto III 10th Anniversary for iOS
In October of 2001, Rockstar Games dropped a bomb on the gaming world. That bomb was called Grand Theft Auto III. In just one release, Rockstar shifted their flagship 2D series into a 3D world, introduced an enormous chunk of the population to the concept of massive sandbox games, and stirred up the first of many controversies that the company has since become known for. Just over 10 years later, GTA3 is...
